Our new captains Naz Kullar, Pam Hall & Patrick Marston (junior captain) 2010

Welcome to all members & visitors old and new.
To the web site of Birstall Golf Club.

I have the honour of being Club Captain for the year 2010 and along with the Ladies Captain Pam Hall; we trust you will have an enjoyable year’s golfing on our excellent golf course. Development work has continued this year, bunkers on 1st, 6th, 9th, & 12th holes look superb and I am looking forward with great anticipation to playing them in the early spring; work on the remaining holes will commence again in the Autumn of 2010. (Well done to Mick Marvell and all the greens staff led by Andrew De Wet)

I wish success to our Scratch Team, which will be led by Martin Weaver. I am sure he will push the players to get back to where we belong in Division 1 next season. I trust they will be challenging for honours in the new season. Mail on Sunday team is once again led by Stuart Marriott, and with many of our juniors having progressed into excellent golfers, I feel sure that our Scratch Team can only benefit from their progress.

Both Pam and I are also looking forward to some excellent social events throughout the next 12 months and to welcoming visitors to our annual Open Competitions. Birstall Golf Club members and visitors have a wonderful reputation when it comes to contributing to charitable organisations; this year my chosen charity is;

HELP FOR HEROES there is the usual bunkers on the 9th if you find yourself in one; please donate a £1 in the bar. (Adam will be watching) look out for other events throughout the year.

Please feel free to contact me direct if you have any matters relevant to the club that you wish to discuss; I may not be able to answer them immediately but will certainly ensure a prompt reply.

Happy and enjoyable golfing in 2010 to everybody.

Nazar Kullar.
